Burgmann Industries swears by Interact CapturePay

‘Archiving invoices electronically at the end of the processing chain is just half the job done! Burgmann Industries utilizes the potential of CapturePay to control and automate subsequent process steps with the data generated from the capture process.’
Klaus Preitschopf
Head Central Archive

The internal processing of incoming invoices - from checks by purchasing departments to payout of the amounts by financial accounting - was to be optimized at Burgmann Industries, one of the leading manufacturers of seal systems in the world. The company’s decentralized organization, cross-validation of invoice items and order processes as well as internal coordination were responsible for creating long processing times and increased personnel expenditure. In order to boost efficiency, Burgmann Industries started a project with Interact in May 2004 that was executed on the basis of Interact’s own CapturePay, a reliable scanning and capture solution for automated invoice processing.

Each invoice document is scanned upon receipt. All invoices from over 3,000 active suppliers are now processed only electronically. The recognition technology recognizes automatically the ‘master data’, controlled via the suppliers’ database of Burgmann Industries and independent of the layout of the respective invoice. In addition to this, the system gleans the necessary details from the supporting documents, such as, for example, order and invoice numbers, date of invoice, currency as well as gross, net and sales tax amounts.
